Paul Adams is an experienced trainer and consultant, including over a decade as Fostering Development Consultant with BAAF/CoramBAAF. He developed the 2018 version of Form F, and wrote the guidance notes that accompany it. He has also authored good practice guidance on checks and references in assessment, and other relevant material. Evaluations show that 80-90% of those who attend his training rate it as ‘excellent’.
Undertaking a Form F Assessment

This course will run from 10am – 4pm at a venue in central Liverpool, and is aimed at social workers who wish to undertake high quality assessments of prospective foster carers.
By the end of the course participants will have:
- Looked at gathering and presenting robust evidence (including checks and references) and triangulating that evidence
- Reflected on learning from research and serious case reviews, and thought about what constitutes safe practice in assessment
- Considered the importance of critical thinking, and careful analysis, in reaching a recommendation about suitability to foster
